The Comoros land is mostly dessert and the green area is found in the basalt ranges of the northern region. It is sometimes known as the perfume islands. It lies between Northern Madagascar and Africa. What makes it a big hit to site-seers is its ravishing treasure of volcanic islands, mainly found in the Mozambique Channel. It is of the impression that it is a mix of African Warmth and French Chic.

The Grande Comoro is the largest island of Comoro, it is composed of the famous Bouni beach, Chomoni beach as well as the stunning rain forest and the awesome active volcano of Mt. Karthala. Climbing enthusiasts can climb to the top of Mt. Karthala. Surrounding it are hot sulphur springs at Lac Sala. There are numerous mosques, one of which is the Vendredi Mosque.

The Moheli, the smallest and the wildest island, has the most beautiful scenery in the city. Camping is the most popular activity here. Visitors can also see how the Arab sail boats are built on the beach at Fomboni. Aside from this, Moheli has a fine waterfall that is located at Miringoni. In Niumashuwa Bay, giant turtles and green turtles can be seen in Moheli's marine reserve.

If you are looking for the typical island life-style you must visit the Anjouan island. It is commonly known for its beautiful waterfalls and abundant vegetation. Tourists can try hiking or can choose to see the coral reefs. They can go swimming at the Chiroroni beach, and visit the old town Hari ya Moudji in Domoni. Each of these places has the magic to capture the tourists heart for travelling.

Mayotte on the other hand is a French administrated island, because of this it is French culture. It is the oldest of the islands and therefore has the most coral reefs and is a very popular place amongst tourists for fishing, diving and boating. In fact, it also has a good reputation for the good beaches and excellent scuba-diving facilities. Tourist may also explore the lagoon through the dugout canoe.
