Chile is the long strip of land on the western coast of South America, stretching for over 4,300 kilometres. Due its geographical location Chile has a diverse range of weather conditions with some parts of the country dry and others wet with a more Mediterranean type climate.

So what exactly is there to do in Chile you ask? Well you can visit the coast, and cast your eyes across the beautiful blue ocean or you can have a look at the San Pedro de Atacama. This unique town was built hundreds of years ago and contains some great examples of ancient Chile architecture. Easter Island is another popular tourist destination with families taking their vacations in Chile.

You have got to remember, that the Chile coast runs for over 4000 kilometres, which means there is plenty of ocean to see, and amazing beaches. Some of these beaches have world class resorts containing luxury holiday villas with swimming pools and self catering apartments that are available to rent. Lovers of water sports have a great holiday while staying in self catering holiday accommodation in Chile. It offers a diverse range of water sports and many holiday makers come here and learn to surf. Scuba diving is also popular and many tourists take out a boat and try their hand at sea fishing.

 

Another very popular tourist attraction would have to be the great San Pedro de Atacama. This truly remarkable city is one of the oldest cities in Chile and it was built several hundreds of years ago. This city is world renowned for its superb architecture and many of these buildings are in excellent condition. Not only is San Pedro de Atacama a very old city, it has amazing surroundings. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Chile and has some fabulous countryside surrounding it.

The Easter Islands are located just below the southern tip of Chile. These Islands full of charm and character and have an interesting history associated to them. They are perhaps better known through out the world for the mystical examples of their truly awe inspiring monumental structures. The Islands have been occupied for centuries and each generation has left their unique mark on this landscape. Over the previous centuries it has endured some horrific fighting and battles and it can be quite moving standing on the Island and reflecting on its previous history.

Your holiday in Chile will be one to remember. This is really a great place to spend a family holiday. Many holiday makers go to Chile on vacation and rent self catering holiday homes.
